Shadowgraphy

Shadow has always come with the creation of objects. Whether intended or not, its effect on the experience of architecture cannot be overlooked; yet, very little progress has been made in terms of designing around with shadows.

Shadow can enhance the presence of architecture; when timing is right, it can produce sublime effect, but if not being taken care of, shadow can be disastrous at times. So not wanting to leave these visual experience to chances, this thesis aims to explore the desirability of shadow formation and what architecture will become if it is a mere product of careful manipulation of shadows.
