Expectations of an airport are limited to efficiency; locations of the airport are\u00a0always on the periphery, perception of the flight is mostly a form of transitory misery. Although air travel has been mainstreamed, the gateway of an urban center has yet to established itself as a new typology for being economically, environmentally productive and being\u00a0a meaningful connection to the city center that give an immediate sense of the place. This thesis aims at questioning the accepted mode of travelling, re-positioning the infrastructure that facilitates it, making the airport an embedded part of the city experience. Rather than remaining as a transitory unidirectional point, the\u00a0airport\u00a0could be a multi-functional destination.<\/p>\n
