Lefebvre suggests that historically developed society would form its distinctive social space that could reflect its economy and social ecology.<\/p>\n
Hong Kong is full of its cultural geography. But the Government is creating \u201cfake landscape\u201d that wipes out the original cultural characteristics, substituting by tourism and so-called open spaces during the process of urban renewal, which has been heavily criticized about the imbalance between economy and livelihood.<\/p>\n
Whenever architecture comes to affect social space, instead of people adapting to it, it should be more engaging by the people during design or planning. And I think it is still missing in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
