Refugee camp as the new urban city and not temporary structures

The huge influx of refugees into Europe has been an urgent issue for the last couple of years. These camps often are not as temporary as they were constructed for. Kleinschmidt states ‘These are the cities of tomorrow.’ And that ‘The average stay today in a camp is 17 years.’ Refugee camps bring together many different ethnicities and nationalities, all living in very close approximation to each other. I would like to research the layout of these refugee camps from an architectural point of view, and possibly propose architectural interventions to more permanently facilitate the daily life of the people.
